In the next two weeks, I’m leading THREE different events to help you ease into your creativity.
As usual, these are NOT going to be intense, demanding sessions that push you out of your comfort zone.
I prefer to COAX people into giving their creativity a little more room and I encourage them to EXPAND their comfort zone.
These three events are all in-person but I will be offering similar sessions online in May. I’d love to do hybrid sessions but with these kinds of workshops, I’d be doing everyone a disservice by being constantly distracted.
The first two sessions are free.
The third costs $15 but if your budget won’t stretch that far this month, you can have a scholarship spot – no explanations required.

Event # 2: Storytelling Workshop with HOLDFAST Festival

I’m teaching a storytelling workshop for HOLDFAST Festival on Saturday, April 15!
Join me at the Eastern Edge Gallery (72 Harbour Drive, St. John’s) at 3PM on Saturday, April 15.
The workshop is free but your stories will be priceless.
Here are the details:
And Then What? Five Fun Ways To Get Your Story Started
Whether you have a story in mind or you are figuring out what kind of tales to tell, this is the perfect place to play with your ideas.
In this workshop, we’ll borrow some improvisation energy and use prompts, dice, and cards to make up stories as we go.
Using these tools will help you understand key elements of storytelling and help you to figure out how to get your tale ready to share, whether you are telling a story aloud, on paper, online, or in a comic/zine.
And Then What? is designed so we can all have fun making things up but the collective creative energy means everyone leaves full of excitement for their own projects.
PS – This is an interactive and participatory workshop but no one will be put ‘on the spot’ at any time. You can participate at your own comfort level.
Hosted by HOLDFAST Festival
Event #3: Relaxing Creativity Workshop hosted by ME!

I’m calling this a workshop but really we’re going to be playing around with the creative process and finding ways to relax.
I’ve got a few teeny projects for you to try and I’m hoping you’ll be willing to be awful at each of them.
Yes, I am encouraging you to be bad at art.
Why?
Because this workshop is about the process, not about the results.
We’re not trying to create a beautiful piece of art, we’re going to play with paint or paper or words and just find some ease for a few minutes.
Picture a little kid lying on their stomach, tongue stuck out of the corner of their mouth as they concentrate, scrawling away at a piece of paper with a crayon – that’s the kind of feeling we’re going for.
You don’t have to be GOOD, you just have to BE.
Bonus points if you make a mess of things.
All supplies will be provided and no one will be put on the spot at any point about anything.
